Hi everyone! Today’s post is going to be about how I transformed a vase I bought from the dollar tree into a chic, fancy flower vase using rubber bands and spray paint! This is a SUPER simple and inexpensive way to jazz up a flower vase and really make it a statement piece that looks expensive! Stay tuned if you want to find out how I did this
Any clear glass vase (I got mine from the dollar tree)
Rubber bands (I also got these from the dollar tree, you can get any thickness but I used the thicker ones because I liked that look better)
Glass frost spray paint (I got mine from Michael’s and it cost about $11)
You can get any color spray paint for this, I just chose the glass frost one because I liked how it looked.
Once you have your materials the rest is seriously the easiest thing ever!
Make sure you do this outside and you’ll probably want to put down some newspaper or scrap paper. Next, place the rubber bands around the vase anywhere you want them, to create different angles, or you can just put them straight around the vase too!
Once you do this, all that’s left is the spray paint. Spray that sucker with the spray paint, let it dry for about 30 minutes, take off the rubber bands (it’s easiest if you cut them off so that just in case the paint is still wet for any reason you won’t smear it when you take off the rubber bands), and voila! You’ve got a new and improved chic, dollar store vase.
You can do this project and use it for so many different things such as, pencil holders, mason jars, candle holders, etc. It’s totally up to you! Here’s how I styled mine as a flower vase on my vanity.
